Unit IT ready for the next phase after years of transformation

With a simpler organisation, a stronger team, and a sharper focus on customers, Unit IT has laid the foundation for the next phase of its development.

With a simpler organisation, a stronger team, and a sharper focus on customers, Unit IT has laid the foundation for the next phase of its development. Although this year’s financial result did not meet expectations, earnings improved significantly, and management remains optimistic about the future.

Throughout the 2025/26 financial year, Unit IT continued strengthening its business following a period marked by acquisitions, organisational changes, and significant investments. In early April 2026, Thomas Lausten stepped in as new CEO and he has sharpened the company’s focus on customers and execution, ensuring that the foundation is now in place for the next phase of Unit IT’s development.

The annual report shows revenue of DKK 485 million and a loss before tax of DKK 3 million. While the results did not meet expectations, earnings improved significantly compared to the previous year, when the loss before tax amounted to DKK 20 million.

“When I joined Unit IT as CEO earlier this year, I was met by a company with strong technical capabilities and highly skilled people. At the same time, it became clear that we needed a sharper focus and a simpler organisation. We have made significant progress on that journey, and today we are much better positioned for the next phase of our development,” says CEO Thomas Lausten.

A simpler organisation and closer customers relationships

Following several years focused on growth through acquisitions and organisational change, Unit IT has spent the past year making it easier to be a customer. The company has streamlined unnecessary processes and organisational layers while creating greater clarity in decision-making and priorities. As a result, Unit IT today has a stronger team and a clearer focus on turning its technical expertise into tangible value for customers.

“I have spent a large part of my first months visiting customers and listening to their experiences with Unit IT. It has given me a clear understanding of what we do well and where we can improve. Our customers are looking for technical excellence, stability, and a partner that understands their business. That is exactly the direction we are moving in," says Thomas Lausten.

A stronger focus on customers’ changing needs

Increasing cyber threats, new regulatory requirements, and growing uncertainty surrounding international data and cloud solutions have led many organisations to take a much closer look at where their data is stored, who has access to it, and the risks they are exposed to.

This has increased demand for solutions within infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and AI – areas where Unit IT is well positioned with Danish ownership, Danish private cloud solutions, and a stronger financial foundation.

As part of this development, Unit IT has continued investing in local AI capacity within Danish private cloud environments, enabling customers to develop and scale AI solutions under full governance and control without transferring data to foreign servers.

New Chairman of the Board

Unit IT is also strengthening its Board of Directors with the appointment of a new Chairman. Effective September 1, 2026, Martin Lipper will assume the role of Chairman of the Board. Martin Lippert brings extensive experience from the IT industry, most recently as CEO of GlobalConnect, from which Unit IT acquired the outsourcing business through a carve-out in 2023.

As part of the transition, the current Chairman, Nina Østergaard, CEO and co-owner of USTC, will become Vice Chair of the Board. Nina Østergaard has served as Chairman of Unit IT since 2023.

“As owners, it is our responsibility to ensure that the right people are in the right positions. Unit IT is in a very different place today than it was just a few years ago, and the next phase is about translating the strong foundation into growth and results. With Thomas Lausten as CEO and Martin Lippert as Chairman, the company has a combination of strong leadership, deep industry insight, and an extensive network across the IT sector. This gives me great confidence in Unit IT’s future, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to the company’s development as Vice Chair,” says Nina Østergaard.
