Thomas has extensive experience from the IT and security industries, and his focus will be on strengthening Unit IT’s profitability, unlocking the full potential of the business, and on improving collaboration across Unit IT’s organisation.
“Thomas brings a strong personality and a direct, hands-on approach. He has solid leadership experience and a proven ability to deliver change in international IT environments. We see him as the right choice to ensure that Unit IT continues to develop and strengthen its earnings,” says Nina Østergaard, Chair of Unit IT’s Board and CEO and co-owner of USTC.
A strong profile to lead the next phase
Most recently, Thomas served as CEO of MOBOTIX, which speciliases in intelligent, cyber-secure IP video systems. He has previously been VP of EMEA at Milestone Systems as well as Global Sales Director for Siemens Security Products. He currently serves as Industrial Advisor at FSN Capital Partners and brings board-level experience with a strong focus on improving performance and profitability.
“I am really looking forward to joining Unit IT and to building on the company’s already strong foundation. I see a great opportunity to bring the organisation even closer together, especially following the recent mergers and the establishment of the department in Prague. My focus will be to set a clear direction, strengthen profitability, and work closely with Unit IT’s owners, customers, and employees to continue developing the business,” says Thomas Lausten.
Strategic advisor to help realise groupwide synergies
Jess leaves Unit IT after three years as CEO, following a period in which Unit IT completed several acquisitions, including the outsourcing division of GlobalConnect and the Infrastructure Managed Services business from Cepheo, and took important steps towards a stronger international setup. A year after he became CEO, Unit IT opened its first international office in Prague. The delivery centre plays a key role in Unit IT’s day-to-day operations and capacity building.
In his new advisory role, Jess will focus on helping realise synergies across USTC’s companies, especially within IT infrastructure, cyber security, and AI.
“Jess has been instrumental in strengthening Unit IT’s foundation. That is why we are very pleased he will continue as a strategic advisor. With his deep understanding of both business and technology, he will be an important sparring partner who will help us connect the dots across USTC and supporting the leadership team in realising the full potential of Unit IT,” says Nina Østergaard.
